I’m not sure whether I should have a sneaking admiration for the people taking these photographs for getting them published in a national paper, or whether I should bemoan the standards of journalistic research these days.
Well done to GDE Films, who produced an app for 69p which allows you to insert a ghost on to a photograph on your mobile phone. It’s a bit of fun, not to be taken seriously… or so I thought.
Not once but twice people have now caught the Daily Mail out with it: Ghost Boy wasn’t too bad, but Johnny Junior is a bit more unsettling. If it is true about the cot death, I hope the individuals that submitted this photo, and all the media that have reported on it as being ‘genuine’ as opposed to a fake photo, are getting ready to write their apologies now to the family of the SIDS victim. If they do exist, they must be going through hell just now.
Remember: keep your equipment dry, and your coffee strong.

P.S. Since first posting this, the Gloucestershire Echo, who originally printed the story, has acknowledge that they have been sent a faked photo
